Day of the Señor de Huanca Tour in September

The "Señor de Huanca" is the image of the martyred Christ that causes great fervor and devotion among the Catholics of Cusco and Peru. Every year in September month the faithful attend Huanca, place located about 50 km from the city of Cusco, that according to devotees, is the place that God chose to live.

And how to Getting there:

From Cusco city there are two ways to reach the sanctuary of the "Señor de Huanca". The most common route is by car Cusco - Oropesa - San Salvador, the travel time is 50 minutes.

Another way to reach the "Señor de Huanca" is walking that lasts between 4 and 5 hours, for which you will have to depart from the district of San Geronimo in the southeastern part of Cusco city.

Two differentes histories about Señor de Huanca or Huanca Lord.

There are many stories that have written about how God chose Huanca as his home to live between us:

First story

The first story say that in 1675 the Marquis of Valleumbroso finds a rich vein at Yasos mine. During the Spanish invasion, Andean natives were subjected to exploitation in different mines, and Yasos was one of those mines.

One day, Diego Quispe who was one of the laborers exploited in Yasos mine, came to the defense of one of the miners, who was being punished, so the foreman ordered his closure, giving the directions to be punished the following day. Overnight Diego escaped from confinement and decided to take the road to Chinchero, for which he had to go through the Huanca sector, but it was dawn and the day was going to betray, then decided to seek shelter. He found a rock that served as a sort of cavern quite sure where he took refuge and began to pray that they will not find.

At night, Diego was ready to get back on track, but realized that there was no moon and suddenly, a light of surprising clarity, illuminated him in the face, at last when he could distinguish, was Jesus Christ bleeding for the lashes received. Diego, almost beside himself, worshiping their redeemer. Jesus Christ gave a message to Diego: "Diego ... Diego ... I have chosen you to be a pigeon, carrier pigeon my goodness and mercy, this place has been chosen to be a volcano of love and a refreshing fountain of forgiveness, go to your people show yourself to the priest, do your fellowship and returned to me I'll be here. Party at dawn ".

In June of that same year, Diego made his first pilgrimage by a small group of people and the priest of Chinchero, arrived on the scene, Diego entered first seeing Christ that was in the cave with fresh wounds after being flogged and then called the others so they can see the apparition.

Since then began worshiping the Lord of Huanca, which eventually would bring together thousands of souls who consider him, as the father and doctor dildo all pains.

Second story

The Mining wealthy Don Pedro Valero was very ill, and I had tried many physicians diagnose your bad no luck. Suddenly, comes to town a foreign doctor preceded by a great reputation, immediately contacted the doctor under the slogan famous that no matter the amount charged.

The mysterious stranger heeded the call, as the story goes, Don Pedro was subjected to water treatment for five days, in obedience to the doctor's recommendations. After the treatment Don Pedro recovered from his sickness and he spared to put their wealth in the hands of the doctor, but the doctor said, "If you want to do something nice for me, visit me at my house" Don Pedro went to Huanca, income to the altar, and discovered that on a rock was paint the image of their savior..
