The ruins of Choquequirao are majestic and many have compared to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, Choquequirao (from the Quechua chuqi gold and k'iraw, cot, ie "cradle of gold"), are the ruins of an Inca citadel located between the foothills of Mount Salkantay, in the district of Santa Teresa in the province of La Convencion, Cusco region, south of Peru. The archaeological remains of Choquequirao are comprised of buildings and terraces on different levels, from the lowest level to the top Sunch'u Pata truncated highest, which was leveled and fenced with stones to form a platform with an approximate area of ​​150 square Metres.
This archaeological site receives about 50 000 visitors annually although to get to the place you have to walk four days a distance of 60 kilometers that this has.
