Machu Picchu has a new discovering with a tunnel of 500 years old

Researchers at the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, found a new stretch of the trail, which would lead to the Inca citadel and later could relieve visits to this destination.

The new section starts from the area Wayraqtambo or Tambo de los Vientos, this located to the back of the mountain, and where you can see the town of Machu Picchu from a totally different angle than usual.

The discovered section has a length of one kilometer and a half long, with 1.20 and 1.40 meters wide, this may vary according to topography. At the time of its discovery the entire section was covered with vegetation and researchers to appreciate the height of the walls released weeds in parts, once longer visible area, they saw with surprise that had walls around with a height of three meters in Machu Picchu sanctuary.

Fernando Astete, head of the Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu reported that in the section a tunnel, which would give samples of engineering of the Incas, and it was built due to the collapse of its main span, which is why due to the urgency managed to break started Rock forming a tunnel, which would be operational for about 500 years after its construction.
